TERRAH CONSERVATION CAPITAL

invests private capital in land conservation projects in the Southeast. We partner with accredited land trusts, state and local agencies and national conservation organizations, and depend upon them to bring us projects and be long-term land stewards. We work only on projects with the highest ecological, historical, or recreational outcomes, and presently have projects in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Terrah brings equity that will leverage additional capital investment from public agencies and others. From 2014 to 2020 Terrah has invested $27 million, which was matched by $50 million from others, to protect 25,000 acres of land. The product of our work is permanently protected land in the hands of long-term stewards. We do not leave money in the ground and are not long-term landowners.

We have capital available for projects that fit our criteria and can decide and invest quickly. That capital is used to BUY LAND, MAKE LOANS, or participate in WETLAND MITIGATION joint ventures.

For short term ownership projects, we have a MANAGEMENT TEAM with experience in land conservation, management and real estate that can steward and improve properties while we hold them.

We have longstanding relationships with conservation organizations and with legal, appraisal, and sales professionals who support our work.
